| #LFW2016: Daks Fall Collection Posted: 23 Feb 2016 02:28 PM PST Daks is owned by Japan's Sankyo Seiko, the brand shows in London to market its now largely defunct but once meaningful part in British tailoring history to consumers in Sankyo Seiko's home market. The designer caters to both male and female and focused on really dull colors for this collection; Menswear included a black patch-pocket Crombie coat daubed with rust brushstrokes. For the female collection there were a lot of ruffles, feather and fringe, the style included pant suits and maxi dresses as well. Overall the collection had a lot of suede, fur and heavy satin and didn’t particularly have a central theme. Here are some looks from Daks Fall collection for 2016.

| Students Set School On Fire After Discovering Their Courses Weren’t Accredited Posted: 23 Feb 2016 12:12 PM PST Angry students of the Southern Nigeria Institute of Innovative Technology, Ifewara, Osun State, set fire to several properties in the school including a female hostel and some cars, Monday. Femi Makinde, a Punch correspondent in the state garnered that “the students started the violent action on Sunday when they learnt that the National Board for Technical Education did not accredit their course”. The unaffected students condemned their colleagues’ actions in a phone chat with Makinde. They were accused of inciting violence when they learnt their courses which they had applied and received admission for were not accredited. “We had our matriculation on Friday and some students said their courses were not accredited. This led to a serious protest and they destroyed so many things before they set the school on fire. They chased female students away and stole our laptops, phones and other things before they set the female hostel on fire”, one of the students said. Read: 7 Girls Die In Dormitory Fire In Kano
The student also confirmed “the protest started on Sunday evening and continued as early as 7am on Monday. Peace was restored to the school only when police men came this morning”. The Chairman, Governing Council of SNIIT, Dr Kola Christwealth denied the non-accreditation story when contacted for comments. Christwealth however blamed the students action on ignorance saying “the students lacked understanding of the program in the school”. He said: “Our courses were accredited by NBTE. We are only encouraging our students to enroll for professional exams. We did not charge them anything for preparing them for the exams but they will only pay to register for the examinations. The payment is to the professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Management and others. | Trader Rapes Nine-Year-Old Boy Eight Times Posted: 23 Feb 2016 11:50 AM PST A Lagos trader, popularly called Mallam has been arrested after a nine-year-old boy complained about experiencing pains in the anus to his mother. The suspect, identified as Mallam Isiaka, 34, was arrested and detained by the Lagos State Police Command, Iju Division for raping the boy, Christopher (not real name) eight times. Punch Metro reports Christopher as a primary one pupil who lived with his parents on Coker Alhaja Street, Old Akute Road, Iju. His mother constantly sent the child to Mallam Isiaka’s shop for household items. A neighbor said the parents became “‘suspicious’ when Christopher was sent on an errand, Monday, and returned with his pants soaked after he had stayed longer than necessary to run the errand”.
She added, that Isiaka was a favorite of the neighbors as he sold most of the household items they needed. She said: “Isiaka sells items across the road in his shop. The boy’s parents used to send him on errands to the shops. He bought household items like sugar, milk, and biscuits from Isiaka. We call him mallam. It was on Saturday that the boy got the courage to open up on the incident. The boy said the mallam had been raping him in his shop anytime he ran errands for his parents”. The preteen was previously afraid of speaking out as Mallam Isiaka had threatened he would die if he ever told anyone. It was on Saturday, he finally had the courage to tell his mother what the trader had been doing to him. Christopher’s mother who requested her name not be mentioned in print, confirmed the neighbor’s story as she narrated her son’s ordeal, saying “her son confessed ‘the mallam had raped him eight times'”. His mother told reporters: “We have gone to the hospital and they have given him drugs. We are supposed to go to the hospital again. If you see my son’s anus, it is wider than my own. Ordinarily he is an agile child, but he suddenly became cold recently. If not for the spirit of God, I would not know since he is not a girl. I would never think anyone would be raping my boy”. You have overcome a great obstacle which I am sure seemed impossible at times. A new organ – whether it's a heart, lungs, a kidney, or a liver — breathes within you, and I want you to know that I recognize the battle you have fought to get here. For facing what you've faced, and overcoming what you've overcome, you deserve to be congratulated. You are alive and I hope you are well. Simply because that fresh, new, functioning organ that has given you the life your body so deeply craved, was once the love of my life. I don't know anything about you, and you know equally little about me. What I do know however, is that we have both participated in the cruel torture of the hospital waiting room game. My waiting game consisted of a quick phone call, paramedics, followed by nurses, then a life flight to New Orleans, followed by doctors, six days in a hospital, and ultimately followed by surgeons. My waiting game ended in heartbreak and loss.
Your waiting game was a little bit different I'm sure; although much longer and no less emotionally ravaging. It is an odd comfort to me that yours ended on a better note than mine. Because it was a gift my love gave that allowed for that. Whether you consider this new organ a blessing, a gift, a stroke of luck or purely the end result of a waiting list — I hope you make the most of it. Because before giving you a new life; that fresh and healthy organ gave my boyfriend a life full of joy for 20 years. 20 short years. I'm so thankful I was able to know him the last several years, and love him for the past four. He took my breath away when I first saw him and he completely stole my heart. He was the most romantic boy I've ever known; he was real and he was flawed. I saw bits of his darkness and loved him all the more. And he loved me all the same. | Police Arrest Two Priests For Armed Robbery Posted: 23 Feb 2016 09:25 AM PST Two supposed priests, Agbo Peter and Patrick Ajuluchukwu, have been arraigned by the police, Monday, in connection to an alleged armed robbery and illegal possession of fire-arms in Anambra State. Correspondent from the State’s capital, Tony Okafor, learnt that the “suspects were arrested last week at Nkpor, Idemili North of Anambra State by police officers from the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Zone 9, Umuahia)”. Also arrested in their circle were Daniel Nwoye and Solomon Igoji. Items found in their possession include ammunition and a pump-action gun.
Presiding magistrate, H.N Obianwu granted bail to the men at the sum of one-hundred-thousand naira with one surety each. They were also instructed to “deposit three passport photographs each with a verifiable address among other conditions”. Arguing on the priests behalf was their lawyer, CJ Asiegbu who stated that “there was a subsisting court order at a High court on the same matter”. Read: No Homo! | Swedish Liberal Youths Advocate Legalization Of Incest And Necrophilia Posted: 23 Feb 2016 09:21 AM PST Sweden A motion which supports: (a) consenting siblings over the age of 15 should be able to have sex (Incest) and (b) sex with a corpse if there is a written permission made before the person died (Necrophilia); is presently being advocated for by the Liberal Youth League in Stockholm. The proposal which was filed at the Youth League’s annual meeting, argues that, “because it is ‘viewed as unusual and disgusting’, does not mean that the deprived sexual acts should be illegal”, Swedish national paper, Aftonbladet reports.
Cecilia Johnson, Liberal Youths President in Stockholm said:

| We’re Perfecting Migration Into CBT Mode – WAEC Posted: 23 Feb 2016 09:00 AM PST The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it was perfecting plans to migrate into the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for its examinations. Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, the Registrar of council, Dr Iyi Uwadiae, said that the council is considering all variables available to ensure that the entire process is not ruined. Uwadiae, however, stated that the council was not in a hurry to migrate because the council basically conducts achievement tests and not selection tests.

Even though there’s often heated debate on the quality of service by the different networks, we can all agree that we have been entertained by the competition between them; clearly evident in the way of commercials. These have been by visuals, sounds and hilarious innuendos they often place in their ads. It’s nothing new to see a certain network throwing subtle shades about how poorly the next network is, in comparison to theirs. However, in a new campaign by Airtel, advertizing greater value for its customers when they recharge their lines, subtlety is lost. They hit their rival, MTN, hard. Clearly, we all know that to recharge airtime on MTN, you use *555*PIN*. But here, Airtel tells us we can get more value for every time we load up our Airtel lines using that same code. And also there’s the MTN yellow being dominated by a red hat, showing how much Airtel’s got their customers covered. Brilliant! I don’t know how MTN will respond to this but we’ll be here, watching to see how it all unfolds.
