Kesha had claimed physical, emotional and sexual abuse at the hands of the producer, but the court had not deemed it enough grounds to invalidate her contract.
In a statement on her Instagram page, the Tik Tok singer thanked fans all around the world who had stood with her, and in turn stood for other people around the world facing abuse. Her full statement is below: I’m so, so beyond humbled and thankful for all of the support I’ve received from everyone. Words cannot really express the emotions I’ve gone through reading and seeing how amazing everyone has been to me. I can’t believe that so many people all over the world took the time to show me support and love. Other entertainers who knowingly put their own careers at stake by supporting me, I will be forever grateful. All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused. This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract–it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser. It was gathered that the meeting, which commenced at about 11am today, took place inside one of the conference rooms of the Vice President's Office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Those in attendance include a leader of the party; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; the party's National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Lasun; Senate Leader, Ali Ndume; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; and a former interim chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, among others.

| 75-Year-Old Pensioner Dies During Screening In Edo State Posted: 24 Feb 2016 10:34 AM PST Commotion and outrage ensued at the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State following the mysterious death of a local government pensioner, identified as Sunday Oboite, who slumped and died during screening at the reception of the local government secretariat.  According to information gathered, the 75-year-old pensioner, who retired from the Works department of the council, was at the secretariat for screening which the council had directed the pensioners to undertake before they would be paid their 10-month pension arrears. It was gathered that the septuagenarian, who complained of hunger for several hours, slumped at about 1.20pm after taking Viju milk and water offered to him by an unidentified person. The pensioner, who was later confirmed dead by some doctors at the council sparked a protest among other pensioners, who were enraged by what had befallen their colleague.
The Secretary of Oredo Pensioners Association, Erhunmen James confirmed the incident to pressmen. Meanwhile, a pensioner, James Omorogbe, said that the death of Oboite could have been avoided if the council officials had prepared for the screening properly. MTN had originally been fined N1.04 trillion by the NCC for failure to disconnect 5.1 million unregistered lines, but the fine was reduced to N780 billion after much pleading by the company. MTN had taken the matter to court seeking an injuction against the fine, but have now withdrawn the case and paid N50 billion. "In an effort to achieve an amicable settlement, MTN has agreed to withdraw the matter from the Federal High Court in Lagos," a statement by MTN read. | Arms Deal: Jonathan Not Needed To Prove Charges Against Metuh – EFCC Posted: 24 Feb 2016 06:41 AM PST The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has maintained that it does not require former President Goodluck Jonathan as its witness in order to prove its money laundering case against the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Olisa Metuh.  It will be recalled, the PDP spokesman had on Monday told the Federal High Court in Abuja that the anti-graft agency cannot prosecute him without interrogating Dr. Jonathan regarding the source of the N400 million alleged to be part of arms purchase funds. Metuh, who filed the no-case submission through his lead counsel, Mr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, contended that the prosecution could never have been able to make any case against him without the EFCC calling Jonathan as a witness in view of the testimony by PW5 (fifth prosecution witness). However, on Tuesday, the EFCC, in its response, urged the court to dismiss the no-case submission, insisting that Jonathan was not needed to prove its case.
The EFCC is prosecuting Metuh and his company, Destra Investments Limited, on seven counts charges of fraudulently receiving the sum of N400m meant for the procurement of arms from the Office of the National Security Adviser in November 2014, as well as the laundering of an amount involving $2m cash transaction. In the meantime, the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, fixed Thursday to entertain argument for and against the no-case submission. | Soldiers Beat Up Police Officers For Assaulting Army Captain Posted: 24 Feb 2016 06:00 AM PST Drama ensued on Monday in Umuahia, Abia State, when policemen attached to the Railway Police Post molested an unidentified army captain for allegedly parking his 18-seater Mitsubishi bus close to the fence of the station. According to information gathered, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Post was driving into the station with his white Toyota Highlander SUV car when he spotted the bus and ordered the owner to park properly, saying that the army captain's vehicle was blocking his way. The eyewitness who craved anonymity said that when the driver of the bus came out dressed in ash colour native attire, he greeted the DPO and quickly wanted to move his bus, but the police officer ordered him to come closer and explain why he should block his way to the station.
The mild drama became fierce when four soldiers arrived the scene and discovered that the man who was beaten by the police was actually an army captain.

| ‘Johnson And Johnson’ Products Likely To Cause Cancer Posted: 24 Feb 2016 05:43 AM PST The ‘Johnson & Johnson’ brand has been found guilty of failing to “warn consumers that its talc-based products could cause cancer” in an effort to boost sales. If you are one of those mothers who use any of their products, now is the right time to have a rethink on what products you have been using on you or your baby’s skin. A 62-year-old woman, Jacqueline Fox died in October from Ovarian cancer and the cause of her illness was traced back to Johnson and Johnson’s “Baby Powder and Shower to Shower for feminine hygiene” products which she had used for over three decades. Fox was diagnosed with the disease three years ago after being a regular user of the brands products for over thirty-five years. After a three-week trial, jurors in St Louis, USA, found Johnson & Johnson guilty. The brand was held liable for “negligence, fraud, and conspiracy” and was required to pay the family of the deceased “ten-million dollars ($10,000,000) in actual damages and sixty-two-million dollars ($62,000,000) in punitive damages”. This is not the first case the brand is facing. In a Missouri court, over one-thousand cases have been filed against the company with another two-hundred being recorded in New Jersey all cancer-related cases after victims used their products. Part of Johnson & Johnson products are being produced by a different company. Eg, the ‘Shower to Shower’ brand is produced by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. The family lawyer confirmed that "Johnson & Johnson "knew as far back as the 1980s of the risk," and yet resorted to "lying to the public, and lying to the regulatory agencies". | Indian Woman Raped In ICU Just Hours After Giving Birth Through Caesarean Section Posted: 24 Feb 2016 05:34 AM PST A 23-year-old, Indian woman has reportedly been raped in a hospital ward just hours after giving birth for the first time, while in an intensive care unit in New Delhi. The new mother had just given birth via caesarean section at Brahm Shakti Sanjeevani Hospital and was recovering in intensive care when she was attacked.  Photos taken from the hospital's CCTV cameras show a man wearing blues jeans and a red and blue jumper getting out of a car and walking in to the ICU at Brahm Shakti Sanjivani Hospital. The suspect, who allegedly told the guard that he was a doctor, entered the ward around 3:30 am. He is seen constantly on the phone while entering the ICU. Inside the ward, he is seen lifting screens and checking out patients.  The alleged rapist, who had seen her sleeping in a cubicle, burst in and raped her before escaping out onto the street. The same man allegedly then went to a second hospital in the neighbourhood and made a similar attempt on another woman in the ICU. The woman, however, woke up and raised an alarm, after which the man ran away. He has been caught on camera footage in the second hospital too. The police in India have seized footage from both hospitals and have launched a search. Meanwhile, a relative of the woman who was allegedly assaulted disclosed to NDTV that no one responded to her screams.
