Louis van Gaal has finally broken his silence over the speculation about Jose Mourinho taking his job at Manchester United.
Barely 24 hours had passed after Jose Mourinho's sacking from Chelsea when the first noises were made about Mourinho being brought in to take Van Gaal's place.
Van Gaal and United then went through a prolonged Christmas crisis, which saw the Mourinho noise increase exponentially.
But Van Gaal didn't budge, and has survived every storm, and remains in situ.
Adding to the intrigue, Mourinho and Van Gaal are friends, whose association goes all the way back to their time together at Barcelona, when Van Gaal tutored Mourinho as his protege.
But speaking at his pre-Arsenal written press conference today, Van Gaal decided enough was enough, and labelled the Mourinho speculation as 'an absolute scandal.
